IN STOCK - The most popular hay net on the planet! The Hay Chix Half Bale Net attaches easily to a trailer, eye hook, fence or tree by hanging it from either end.
This net holds about 1/2 of a small square bale (4-6 flakes.)
Unlike any other hay saving feeder, university-proven to get at least 94% out of each hay bale and will drastically reduce the amount of time you spend feeding your horse.
These nets are the most popular Original mesh size of 1-3/4". It's perfect for keeping your feeding program on track while on the go. In comparison, the Hay Chix slow feed nets are 1-1/4" and the Extreme slow feed nets are 1".
The old “feast or famine” approach to feeding our horses has had huge inadvertent consequences to their health and happiness. The “scheduled meals” approach can cause colic and other, even dangerous, health problems. It can also lead to boredom, vices and bad behavior. Slow feeders are the best way to avoid many of the harmful health issues that accompany the old approach to feeding your horses—and that frees you up to spend more time enjoying your horse.
- Ideal for: Keeping your stalled horses busy, in your pasture or paddock, hauling: whether inside or outside your trailer, on a tie line for those weekends you hit the trails. This net has been shown to help confined horses with ulcers, weaving, pawing and other unwanted behaviors.
- Oh Snap! – The Oval Snap is a solid choice for a great (and quick) carabiner-style steel clip. Snap measures 4" x 2".
- Hang from the Oval Snap or from the Reflective Rope - depending on your stall conditions.
- Animals LOVE these nets!!!
Warning: Not recommended for use with horned animals, horses with blankets or non-breakaway halters. Nets may be used with shod horses, but must be used with a hay ring that is flush with the ground or hung high enough so the horse cannot paw at it. Nets may be used with blankets as long as the buckles are covered or there is a barrier between the netted bale and the blanket.
